You heard us right. In all fairness, we never thought we would be mentioning E-Sports and Farming together in a sentence, but hey, anything can happen. Giant Software, Developer of Farming Simulator 19, will be launching a competitive farming league in the E-Sports world. Ask your pay per head bookie, he may know this already.
The league will be a full-blown league that will have a prize pool total of around $285,178.25. This league will give you E-Sports farmers the chance to win the Farming Simulator Champion.
E-Sports Latest League
CEO for Giants Software Christian Ammann says in his statement that “Competitive farming is something people enjoy for years now, but it hasn’t been done in eSports so far,”. He further adds We have lots of eSports enthusiasts in our company who can’t wait to show the world that farming can indeed be fun and competitive at the same time. We believe we found the right mix of real farming and fun to play game elements to ensure everyone will find it entertaining.”
They will have 10 tournaments that field workers can join in across Europe, then a $114,073.90 championship event. Circuit points will be given to the top teams. In addition, big prizes will be given in each tournament.
According to Giants Software, the tournaments will be held at popular gaming events such as Paris Game Week and Gamescom. After the season ends, the highest-scoring teams will assemble at FarmCon 2020, and will compete for the Farming Simulator Champion.
Get Your Tractors Ready
Surprisingly, this is not the first time that the game developer has launched a competitive event for farming. Last year, they had a Farming Simulator Championship series in agricultural events. But the players into this have been increasing, and have been increasingly more serious. So much so, that they now have a custom controller for the game. This time around, the tractors are moving full speed ahead, as they will now be an official E-Sports league, complete with sponsors like Logitech and Intel.
