Massachusetts sports betting handle reached $642 million in March, an increase of 20.7 percent from the previous month’s $542 million. However, it was less than January’s $652 million. Also, it was a good month for players with taxable gaming revenue at $46 million. It was lower than February’s $53 million.
According to the best bookie pay per head, the state’s tax revenue dropped to $9.2 million from $10.5 million, even though handling increased monthly. Since sports betting was legalized in Massachusetts at the beginning of 2023, the state has received $127.8 million in tax revenue.
March was a triumphant month for DraftKings, with a handle of $323.0m, marking a significant 19.7 percent increase from February’s $269.8m. The company’s earnings from gambling soared to $22.7 million, a testament to its thriving performance in the sports betting market.

FanDuel, which received $119.4 million in wagers and made $15.2 million in income in March, is well behind DraftKings. BetMGM was in second place, with $45.5m in handling. The top five were Caesars Sportsbook (with $25.2m) and ESPN Bet (with $34.4m). Meanwhile, in March, fans won $23.7 million.
According to pay per head services experts, Plainridge Park Casino collected $5.6 million in bets. Encore Boston Harbor and MGM Springfield recorded $5.0 million and $1.6 million in sports betting handle, respectively, out of the three land-based venues that offered sports betting.
Casino income in Massachusetts increased month-over-month, joining sports betting as a state growth source. The three casinos in the state brought in $111.1 million in March, a 10.4 percent increase from $100.6 million in February.
Table and slot gaming revenue for Encore Boston Harbor was $70.4 million, with MGM Springfield coming in second with $25.2 million. Finally, with $15.4 million in GGR, was Plainridge Park Casino. With the three casinos up and running, the state has received almost $1.7 billion in tax revenue. Thus, it is the best time to become a bookie in Massachusetts.
