Gardner Minshew filled in admirably for Nick Foles after the veteran quarterback fractured his collarbone in Week 1, but his performance as of late was not enough to inspire the team to let him keep the job with Foles fully healed.
On Tuesday, Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone announced that Nick Foles will start for the team when they come out of their bye in Week 11 to face the Indianapolis Colts.

The odds were always stacked against Minshew, as the Jaguars signed Foles to a four-year, $88 million contract this past offseason. They still believe he is the right man to lead the team, and there was a report that Minshew was playing for his starting job in Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans in London. He completed 27-of-47 passes for 309 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. Jacksonville was dominated 26-3.
Minshew Mania took off to the point where the rookie instantly became a meme, but it makes sense that the Jaguars are going back to Foles. They are 4-5 and still in the hunt in the AFC South, and this is the type of situation in which they expect Foles to excel.
