The Basics of Parlay Bets

Sports betting is more than just betting on who will win a specific game. Most new sports bettors will probably stick to basic bets you can find in sports betting software. But as you get more comfortable with betting, you gain more confidence in your skills. The best way to put it to the test, and potentially earn more money, is to bet on Parlays. We’ll give you the basics of Parlay bets in our latest sports betting tutorial.

In your live betting software, you can easily find the parlay bets. You will see a few multiple straight bets but only on one ticket. Normally, these would be straight up bets, and you combine it with totals and spreads. But you can also have the same bet type, but with different games. Its possible to bet on the NFL and the NBA in one parlay bet, for example.

What are Parlay Bets

parlay betsAs mentioned earlier, a parlay bet has multiple bets in just one ticket, or one wager. If you lose one of those, then you lose your whole wager. Depending on your pay per head sportsbook, you can find two or more wagers, and you can even bet on different sports in one parlay bet.

So for instance, if you place a $100 dollar bet on a three bet parlay, and you win, you can get $700 if you win. The $100 you initially gave, plus $600 in winnings. Again, if even just one of the outcomes in your parlay loses, you lose your money.

Parlay Basics

Sometimes, you will get what bookies call a Push in one or more of your bets. This happens when the spread or totals bet you make is exactly the same as the number set in the sportsbook. When this happens, since it is neither over or under, you get your money back, and the bet will be removed from your parlay.

While it seems intimidating and risky to be able to wager perfectly in a parlay bet, you can win a lot from this. As long as you pay attention to the game, and the odds, then you have a better chance of withdrawing bigger winnings from your bookie.
