Michigan to Join US Legal Sports Betting

Michigan will join the US legal sports betting industry as they start taking in bets in 2020. Michigan will be the 20th state to allow sports betting. It may also be the 9th state to offer a sports betting platform to take in online wagers. Given Michigan’s population and a well-crafted sports betting policy, the state could rise to be one of the major betting markets in the US.

Online sports betting is starting to rise in terms of market share in the industry. More and more people prefer the convenience of placing wagers from their phones or their computers at home. Even bookies are going digital, with an array of bookie pay per head directory entries that provide options for online bookies.

Michigan and Legal Sports Betting

Michigan Sports BettingAccording to Michigan legislation, every casino will be able to have one license or skin. This means we could see more than 24 online sportsbooks pop up in the near future. So far, only a few sportsbooks will open in 2020. But experts are optimistic that the number will increase steadily.

Of course, physical sportsbooks will still exist, although lately they take in around 15% of the total action most sports betting operators take in (online wagering takes the bulk at 85%). In addition, anyone who will want to bet will be able to register via their mobile phones, which makes the whole process easier. As for what events residents can bet on, there are no limits, even local state teams can be wagered on.

As for the betting options, any and all wager types can be offered by sportsbooks. The law is crafted in such a way, that, if new technologies come up, or new wagering types will be created, they can easily adapt their laws.

Of course, its this kind of flexibility in sports betting that gives online bookies an advantage because it makes them more efficient. With a well-run sports betting business, the bookie can enjoy profits and save money in sports betting with the proper tools as well.
